About The Trip

In partnership with Gathimba Edwards Foundation, we are excited to offer you a chance to be part of a team that will build homes and lay the foundations to a brighter future for kids in Kenya.

What: A trip to Kenya for volunteers who wish to build homes for families in need

Where: Karatina, Kenya - East Africa

*Cost: The cost of the trip (excluding international flights) will be $1,000 per person.  This includes all accommodation, meals, in-country transport, airport transfers and water.

  • This trip is offered at cost price so we kindly ask that everyone joining our adventure to utilize our GoFundMe for this project to help us fund raise for the approximate $25,000 building material and land costs (Gathimba Edwards is fundraising the majority of these costs, but every bit helps). It would be fantastic if each participant could attempt to raise a minimum of $500 to help us cover these costs.

“What a trip, amazing, emotional, exhausting, exhilarating, beautiful, breathtaking and more than anything humbling. We were able to witness first hand, not only the utter poverty but, the inspirational work the Gathimba Edwards team are doing. How so little can do so much and how a smile and a wave(and maybe a sweetie and some bubbles) can bring so much joy. This trip has changed us it has inspired us it has moved us and it will remain with us.”
— Abi - partipant of Gathimba Edwards April 2017 trip to Kenya
Myles Edwards & Gideon Gathimba are two of the most genuine guys I’ve ever met. After recently returning from a very successful building trip to Kenya, organised by them - with help & support from Dan Mulhare & Peter Githingi, I feel a 5 star award is much deserved. The happy smiles on the faces of the kids we encountered said it all & I for one, felt so happy knowing we were helping to make a difference to people’s lives.
— Jo R., Participant of Kenya Building Trip October 2015
“Huge thanks to the AWESOME team in Kenya, it feels like my second home, the people are amazing. The work that the Gathimba Edwards Foundation puts into the two weeks that we were there is astounding, I am sure everyone that was with me would agree. 👍👍 Already looking forward to a new adventure with the next group who are going to go next April, if anyone is thinking of going, JUST DO IT, it will be the best experience of your life and make you appreciate what you have here. What are you waiting for?”
